Dear friend: 

Typically, I would save this for a face-to-face, or a private message; but on this important occasion - your four year Guateversary - I choose to write you a more open note. 

Simone, you are one of those special people that brings joy to all those whose path you cross. Take a moment to reflect on that, for as trite as it may sound, there are truly so very few of your kind. You are a unique species, in that you put others before your self. Your empathy is an instant trust builder; your passion forces us all to strive to do better; you have been a constant source of strength for me, and so many others, over the years that we have known you. More than anything, I want to say that I couldn't be prouder to be your friend. I am so proud of all the good you have done, the smiles you have caused, and the love you have shared.

May the next four years be as great as the last, no matter where your feet may lie.
