Some
thoughts on behalf of Simone, Lottie and Peter Riddle
Uncle Trevor played an important part in
our family life. Throughout Simone and Lottie’s childhood Uncle Trevor would
frequently visit Margaret, the girls and I. Whenever he was in the vicinity of the
Midands he would drive over to Derbyshire to see us, and he would get up to
date with the girls progress and check that everything was well with Margaret
and myself. Uncle Trevor would talk to us about the Waldmeyer side of the
family, often bringing photographs of Margaret’s father and that side of the
family, talk to us about various events in the past, and update us on any
significant changes or contacts. Uncle Trevor always remembered Lottie and
Simone’s birthdays, and throughout their childhood he congratulated them on
their achievements in exams.
We
have lovely memories of the extended family meals in Nottingham which Uncle
Trevor arranged and at which Lottie and Simone had the opportunity to meet
members of the wider family who lived far and wide. He was a generous and kind
uncle, always so modest and self-effacing, and who is remembered with great
fondness by all three of us.
Simone,
Lottie and Peter Riddle
